Tour the stars at Cerrillos Hills State Park with Peter Lipscomb on Friday February 28, 7-9 p.m.
Starry, starry night at your favorite State Park. Follow Peter's green laser tour of the stars and constellations, marvel at Jupiter, and then ooh and ah at telescope views of the Orion Nebula, distant star clusters and interestingly shaped galaxies. If you have a red flashlight, bring it.
Park at the main park entrance, 1/2 mile north of Cerrillos Village on County Road 59. $5 per vehicle, exact change or check. A staff member will be at the entrance to help orient you and collect fees.
Park Location & Hours
The park is open sunrise to 9 p.m. daily. The entrance is off County Road 59, about 1/2 mile north of Cerrillos Village. There is a $5 per vehicle day use fee, payable at the self-pay station at the park entrance. Pick up a park brochure at the entrance or download one here.
The park's Visitor Center is in Cerrillos Village, at 37 Main Street on the corner of 1st and Main. It is open 2-4 p.m. daily, sometimes longer on weekends, and by appointment. Call 505 474-0196.
