On Wednesday morning, it was reported that HTC CEO Peter Chou is allegedly the main reason why HTC hasn't been able to turn around its fortunes, despite coming out with the most critically acclaimed smartphone device this year. Despite positive reaction to new devices, HTC is still on a free fall and anonymous executives at HTC told Reuters it was Chou's fault.
Sources say Peter Chou has been rather stubborn and unwilling to do what it takes to set the company up for long-term success. This may be a reason why HTC hasn't been able to release a groundbreaking tablet yet. But Chou's work ethic is also an issue.
It is said Chou is allegedly territorial and close-minded. He often shoots down ideas, overrides decisions from his underlings, and doesn't even hold regular meetings with the joint chiefs or executive vice presidents. He is not very well liked by most employees at HTC. But we're not sure if spilling the beans to Reuters represents a positive work ethic either.
In any case, we hope that HTC can turn around its fortunes soon. We need them to keep making innovative devices like the HTC One.
