Century 21 Redwood Realty VA introduces artist Susanne Kasielke (Photos)

After nearly a year of successful Artists' Open Houses in Washington DC directed by Wesley Mosser, Century 21 Redwood Realty is expanding to Arlington, VA and brings twice the opportunity to meet prolific artists of DMV! Do not miss this first 2013 artist open house from 6-9 pm, located at 1711 Wilson Boulevard, VA Arlington!

Susanne Kasielke, a native of Germany who is currently based in Washington DC, will showcase her paintings on canvas and paper through her concept of one thing every day that makes you happy!

"Painting and being creative is very important for my personal happiness," says Susanne. Picasso once said that Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life. It is perfectly true for me: I see more clearly afterwards, feel liberated and balanced".

Susanne works with canvas and handmade paper by using gesso and different layers of paint (oil and acrylic color). Between those layers she uses sandpaper to bring out structure and texture. The combination of sanding, scratching and applying layers of paint emphasizes special areas but at the same time it brings out unexpected shapes and forms. Through this process every piece of my work becomes unique.

Art is very subjective. Imagery, especially of abstract art, is not obvious, everybody sees something different which is fascinating! So, come and see for yourself where Susanne transformed old walls, stones and sometimes even archaeological finds into abstract yet meaningful creations!

Portions from the sales at the Century 21 Redwood Reality solo show will benefit the Easter Seals. In addition, Susanne will be donating 5% to Kinhaven School. Century 21 Redwood Realty Artists' Open House is free to attend: Century 21 Redwood Realty, 1711 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA. 22209.
