Central Point Chamber of Commerce hosts awards dinner and auction

Like everything in the little community of Central Point Oregon, the Chamber of Commerce is small, but mighty.  On March 3, 2012, the group will host the annual Awards Dinner and Auction at Twin Creeks Adult Living Center from 5:00-9:00 pm.

No-host cocktails will kick off the event with a sumptuous dinner beginning at 6:00.  After the guests are sated with the excellent food, a live Auction will feature gift baskets and other delectable items like gift certificates from local businesses.  The price of $29 per person will gain entry to an evening filled with surprises and camaraderie.

Each year the Chamber honors members of the community with special awards recognizing service to the community of Central Point.

Like most Chambers of Commerce, the Central Point Chamber volunteers work tirelessly to be alert for ways to keep the community attractive to business and comfortable for the business patrons.  Every year there are a number of events that help keep the enthusiasm and the atmosphere of the City viable.  The most noticeable event is the annual 4th of July celebration and parade that is supported by virtually every one in Central Point, whether it is the vendors in the park, the parade marchers or the spectators who line Pine Street to cheer on the mounted units and baton twirlers.

Central Point was named because it is the central point of the Rogue Valley.  The historic town was incorporated in 1889.  Today a number of internationally recognized organizations claim Central Point as home. Dogs for the Deaf, the world’s oldest and largest hearing dog facility, an award winning, internationally known cheese factory, the Rogue Creamery, and the original Grange Co-op, an agricultural cooperative, are all located in Central Point.  The Jackson County Fair Grounds, which hosts the County Fair and provides a setting to Sports shows and year long activities for the community is a Central Point fixture.

You can participate in this community organization when you attend the banquet and awards auction.  If you are going only for the food, you will not be disappointed, but if you add in the numerous silent auction items, the live auction activity and the enthusiastic guests, you will find it time well spent.
