Conor Beebe, a 2010 Mid-American Conference champion for Central Michigan University, has joined the coaching staff at Gardner-Webb University.
Beebe, who will be working as a graduate assistant coach, will be working with head coach Richard Wince, who has been with Gardner-Webb wrestling for two decades.
“We are excited to have Conor join our staff,” stated assistant coach Daniel Elliott. “His knowledge, skill set and experience will help our team tremendously.”
While at Central Michigan, Beebe excelled on the mat. The Western Springs, Illinois native was a four-time NCAA qualifier, was named to the 2010 First-Team All-Conference, a two-time placer at the Midlands post-Christmas tournament, and served as the captain of the wrestling team. He concluded his career as a Chippewa with a 80-49 record.
Beebe was also a standout wrestler in high school. He was a four-time Illinois state champion for Montini, one of the more successful prep programs in the state.
Beebe, who has done various charity work through the Red Cross, Special Olympics and Adopt a Family Charity, has spent the last four summers working various wrestling camps at Holland High School, Loyola Academy and Central Michigan University.
