Central Islip man critically injured in early morning shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that critically injured a Central Islip man early this morning outside a bar.

According to Suffolk County Police, Maurice James was shot in the torso after becoming involved in an altercation on Nov. 24 at approximately 1:50 a.m. outside Attitudes Bar and Grill, 485 Waverly Ave. in Patchogue.

James, 30, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue and had emergency surgery. James was listed in critical condition following the surgery.
