Center needs gas cards for military families

Military families often experience unique needs and challenges in addition to those found in typical relationships and families. The Center for Prevention and Counseling in Newton, New Jersey has recognized these needs and developed a free program to serve and provide support for military families in the Sussex County and surrounding areas. Coined, Military Family Night-Out Program, this weekly program offers dinner, family relationship building activities, games and prizes, and planned cooperative activities. It is held at the Vernon Senior Center in Vernon, New Jersey. Families completing the program receive $300.00 in gift card incentives. The Center is requesting donations in the form of gas cards for participants in the program. Community members and local businesses can contact the Center to donate gas cards at 973-383-4787 and ask for Natalie or Brie. They can also be reached via email at natalie@centerforprevention.org or brie@centerforprevention.org.
