The Shops at Liberty Hosts Center City’s Largest Holiday Tree
Two Performances, Family Fun and Holiday Shopping
The Shops at Liberty Place hosts its first annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Rotunda today, Tuesday, December 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm with two performances, photos with Santa, extended holiday shopping hours, arts and crafts, and complimentary snacks and drinks.
The Shops at Liberty Place are the home of the largest tree in Center City this holiday season, standing at 44 feet tall. The magnificent tree will be on display throughout the holiday.
We’ve been here for more than twenty years and the holidays are really important to us,” says Jill Scarlett, Retail Shops Manager at The Shops at Liberty Place. “We want to give something back to the families and shoppers who visit us every holiday season and this year we have something really special with Center City’s largest tree.”
The Tree Lighting Ceremony begins with live performances by the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and The Philadelphia Dance Academy. The Philly Arts Center will provide an arts and crafts table for children to make holiday keepsakes.
Santa will light the tree promptly at 7:00 pm. Families can then take the opportunity to take photographs with Santa (bring your own camera).
The stores in The Shops at Liberty Place will extend their hours during the ceremony and remain open until 8:00 pm and many stores will be offering exclusive sales. In addition to these exclusive discounts, guests will also receive complimentary beverages and lite bites provided by R2L. Nik the Web Chick from Philadelphia’s hit radio station Q102 will also be onsite with eggnog for all and additional giveaways.
The Shops at Liberty Place begins this new tradition of a tree lighting ceremony in style. The ornaments and decorations promise to be stunning and with something for everyone, the evening’s entertainment appeals to families, friends, professionals, and shoppers.
