We’ve been here for more than twenty years and the holidays are really important to us,” says Jill Scarlett, Retail Shops Manager at The Shops at Liberty Place. “We want to give something back to the families and shoppers who visit us every holiday season and this year we have something really special with Center City’s largest tree.”

Location: The Rotunda at The Shops at Liberty Place, 1625 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA
The Shops at Liberty Place hosted its first annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Rotunda on Wednesday, December 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm with two performances, photos with Santa, extended holiday shopping hours, arts and crafts, and complimentary snacks and drinks.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony began with live performances by the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and The Philadelphia Dance Academy. The Philly Arts Center provided an arts and crafts table for children to make holiday keepsakes.
Santa dropped by at 7:00 pm to light up the tree with his special magic, then families had the opportunity to take photographs with Santa. The children were delighted!
There was complimentary beverages and lite bites provided by R2L and Nik the Web Chick from Philadelphia’s hit radio station Q102 had eggnog for all and additional giveaways.
The Shops at Liberty Place began this new tradition of a tree lighting ceremony in style. The ornaments and decorations are stunning and there was something for everyone: from the evening’s entertainment appeals to families, friends, professionals, and shoppers.
