The mobile ad platform company, Celtra, founded in 2006, has released some exciting news that supports Boston's claim for a hot and growing hub for entrepreneurship.
Celtra announced it has raised $4 million "to explore business opportunities in Japan and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific." This round of funding was led by SoftBank Capital with participation by GrandBanks Capital and Fairhaven Capital.
Around this time last year, Celtra raised $5 million in a Series A round from GrandBanks and Fairhaven.
Mobile app usage is growing, and along with that, the opportunity for advertisers to promote their products and services to the right customers.
Although consumers claim they hate ads, businesses like Buzzfeed are proving everyone wrong. The publisher recently raised $19 million and is changing the way digital publishing and online ads work.
It is time for companies like Celtra to make mobile ads work too, so that businesses and consumers can benefit.
This is all pretty exciting stuff. What do you think?
