Cell phone ban does not reduce accidents: California revenue scheme exposed as complete fraud

A new study reveals that the hand-held cell phone ban for drivers that went into effect July 1, 2008 has not reduced accidents in California, as the proponants of this tyrannical nanny state law had falsely purported. Is anyone surprised?

California's gun-grabbing socialist governor, who has a tax lien on his property and has been caught breaking numerous laws, along with his wife who ignores the cell phone law with impunity, have long been open advocates for laws that restrict the liberty of Californians.

Similar to the red light cameras set up across the state, which actually have been proven to increase accidents and are repeatedy rigged and defeated in court,  the cell phone law is not and has never been for "safety", but is strictly for revenue. "How I beat a cell phone ticket in California" is an easy treatise on how this writer fought and beat a cell phone ticket which I recieved the first day of the bogus "law", on July 1, 2008. I also explain why everyone should fight their traffic tickets- every time.

A new study released yesterday by the Highway Loss data Institute entitled "Hand-held cellphone laws and collision claims frequencies" outlined how, in their words,  "Laws banning cellphone use while driving fail to reduce crashes, new insurance data indicate"

The HLDI pointed out "Month-to-month fluctuations in rates of collision claims in jurisdictions with bans didn't change from before to after the laws were enacted. ...The laws aren't reducing crashes, even though we know that such laws have reduced hand-held phone use..."

Los Angeles KFI radio hosts John and Ken, two clowns who vehemently shilled for Schwarzenegger for governor and even hosted his rallies, discussed the cell phone study on their afternoon show Friday. They certainly have had a change of heart once their former hero's statist policies have been implemented. This is a good lesson against choosing "the lesser of two evils". Of course, these are guys who supported Romney for president, advocate gun control, and believe government fairy tales about 9/11.

When one pretends to support liberty yet repeatedly advocates openly collectivist and authoritarian candidates, one must wonder whether they are simply ignorant or players in a circus show type deception.

For the record, I knew that Schwarzenegger, who happily signed the cell phone ban, was a new world order rat from the start. The week he was elected governor in 2003 and met Bush for the first time in California, I was there to call them both out. KNBC TV covered my protest, you can watch the news clip here at minute 5 of this video.

I guess the boorish & stupid people who'd risk everybody's lives over nothing found a replacement behaviour. I wonder what is though? (Toronto's got an unusually high death rate on its roads and its only January.)

Yeah, I really like the cell phone users who can barely drive their cars at the legal speed, so others have to join their phone calls.

I'm sick and tired of those who drive out of their drive ways while on the phone without looking.

Funny that moms drive over the kids while on the phone.

Most of the cell phone calls are like this: "High dude, I'm on my phone", Are you really, "dude I...".

It's so much easier to want "laws" to control other people than to actually take responsibility for your own safety by paying attention to the other drivers. Regardless of whether they are on the phone or not, they are probably not paying attention to YOU. Don't try to hand your responsibility off to the state. It never works.

The reason it hasn't had an effect is because it isn't being enforced. The anti-drunk-driving laws wouldn't have an effect either, if they weren't enforced. I still see about 1 in 10 drivers with a cell-phone being held against one ear, while trying to drive with the other hand (and not using turn signals as a result).
