The French luxury house Celine opened its new Paris flagship Monday, April 28 at 53 Avenue Montaigne replacing Céline's former location in rue François Ier. The brand was founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana was originally created as a made-to-measure children's shoe business then later debut its ready to wear in 1960. Michael Kors was its first ever women's ready-to-wear designer and designed for the label until 2004. It’s been said it was Kors who turned the fashion house into a blockbuster accessories and a critically acclaimed ready-to-wear line.
Today, it is an international luxury goods brand owned by LVMH, Céline is planning to open 15 new stores by the end of the year, including flagships in Tokyo Chengdou, Las Vegas and New York.
The Céline store welcomed itself into the new neighbor with its own major advertising campaign throughout Paris led up to the event. British designer Phoebe Philo designed the store and Danish artist FOS created custom furnishings that includes lamps, benches and chandeliers. The store offers all of the brand's lines.
