Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and that means a plethora of new weddings will be taking place on the most romantic day of the year. According to a Feb. 1 post on Wetpaint, there are still celebrities who can keep a marriage together for decades. More than you might think even managed to marry their high school or college sweethearts! In honor of Valentine’s Day, let’s meet a few.
Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson met his wife, Ashton Meem in high school and again while at a party. Though they dated throughout high school, they attended different colleges. Later, Ashton transferred to NC State to be near Wilson. They married in 2012 just months before he was snatched up in the NFL draft.
Robin Thicke met his future bride at a teen night club while they were in high school. They dated through high school and while Paula was attending the University of Southern California. Their wedding took place in 2005. The couple now has a son, Julian, 5.
Elizabeth Banks of “The Hunger Games” fame met Max Handelman on her first day in 1992 at the University of Pennsylvania. They married in 2003 and had their first child through a surrogate in 2011.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg met Priscilla Chan during a Harvard frat party back in 2003. Chan completed her medical degree from UCSF in 2012. They surprised friends and family by marrying in their home under the guise of a “graduation party.”
Snoop Dogg Lion went by Calvin Broadus back in high school where he met his future bride, Shante Taylor. Their first child, Corde, arrived in 1994 and their second, Cordell, in 1997. Their wedding took place after that and was followed by baby number 3, Cori, in 2000. Though they divorced in 2004, the couple renewed their vows in 2008.
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi met the love of his life in high school. He and Dorothea Hurley dated four 4 years of high school and for years after before finally eloping in Las Vegas when they were 27. Four kids and 30 years later they are still in love.
Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson met in while attending Morehouse College. They married in 1980 and never looked back. They have 1 daughter, Zoe.
Ron Howard was smitten with Cheryl Alley in high school and in spite of his parents to keep them apart, spent as much time with her as he could. He even lied about joining the cross country team so he could see her more than the twice-per-week limit his parents established. They wed in 1975 at the age of 21 and have 4 kids.
Jeff Daniels and Kathleen Treado met in high school but waited until they were 24 to tie the knot. They wed on a Friday the 13 to honor the number 13 Daniels wore on his baseball jersey. The couple has 3 children.
