Yesterday’s presidential inauguration on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC on January 21, 2013 featured a few celebrity performers including Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor and Beyonce. That may have been a modest offering of well-known celebrity performers, but in the crowd others were spotted...
John Mayer and Katy Perry were spotted in the crowd taking pictures for the memories… Katy had only recently performed at the Kid’s Inaugural Concert for military families, which Michelle Obama and Jill Biden both attended.
Actor and talkshow host Steve Harvey too was spotted in the crowd, bundled up in his black winter coat and matching fedora.
Attired in her mauve leather coat, black muffler, black leather gloves and black suede boots, actress Eva Longoria was spotted in the crowd during NBC’s broadcast of the presidential inauguration.
Beyonce showed up for her performance arm-in-arm with singer Jay-Z and former U.S. President Bill Clinton was spotted cheekily taking a picture of Kelly Clarkson as she sang.
Clinton also got a chance to meet singer John Legend and his fiancé Christine Teigen at the Inaugural Luncheon in Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol Building.
Highlights of the inauguration yesterday included performances by James Taylor, who sang “America the Beautiful,” Kelly Clarkson, who performed the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and Beyonce, who performed the National Anthem of the United States.
Later at the Commander-in-Chief's Inaugural Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which the Obamas and the Bidens attended in the evening, were performances by Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley and the band Fun.
There were probably some other celebs hidden in the crowd as well and photographs may emerge later via Twitter or other social media in the coming days…
