Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria Parker is anything but desperate to look hot in her bikini.
Longoria has long been coveted since her early years as "Isabella Brana Williams" on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, being ranked #14 in the FHM "Sexiest Women 2008" poll. But how does the Mexican-American film and television actress stay undeniably tantilizing at 34-years-old?
Eva's one of the "healthy" ones. Resisting extreme dieting and yo-yo waistlines, the Texas-born star and wife to San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker stays steady in all she does, incorporating balance and consistency into her fitness regimes.
“My workout routine is geared to wanting to lead a healthy lifestyle,” Longoria says. “Not so much because I’m going to be shooting a bikini scene tomorrow.”
Longoria seperates her job from her personal life, saying that her on-screen character of Gabrielle Solis isn't her motivator to look fit and stay healthy.
She does admit that having on-set meals prepared for the Desperate Housewives crew of fruits, salads and whole grains helps her stay focused.
In addition, Longoria Parker says her biggest assest is her personal gym in her San Antonio home and her saving-grace personal trainer, Pat Murphy.
Murphy, who's famous for his "Gold Medal Glutes" and also trainer to former Saved by the Bell's Mario Lopez makes house calls to Eva's home at least three times a week. Without him, Longoria Parker says, she wouldn't exercise.
“Without my trainer, I wouldn’t even get out of bed. That’s why he has to come to my house, because there’s so many times I’ve called and canceled if we meet at a gym."
Eva warms up for 10 minutes on the bike or the treadmill and then focuses on strength training.
"Each session we do between 25 and 30 total-body exercises--lunges with torso twists and one-legged squats with clean and press, for example--with 30- to 45-second rests in between," says Murphy, who uses different exercise props each session to keep Longoria Parker's body in the guessing.
“He changes it not only for my mind, but for my body too, so it doesn’t get used to the same thing. I do a lot of core exercises that strengthen everything at the same time instead of just doing biceps or leg curls."
But the best of what Eva Longoria Parker has is behind her.
"With all the lunges, squats and leg presses I've done in the last two months, I think I've gained an inch of muscle in my butt," says the actress, reigning in the most media attention with her killer legs.
Quite possibly the reason Bebe Sport decided to sign the actress-model as their new spokesperson for their bikini line (Shown above left).
The tool of the trade today? Longoria says balance and stability balls have kept her on point.
"Right now, I’ve been standing on those balance balls. I do it to keep my shape,” she confesses. “I get thin so easily, so I work out to stay bigger.”
