Celebrity fitness and health expert and creator of the 12 Week Body Transformation, Michelle Bridges has helped dieters shed more than two million pounds. She also has played the role of Jillian Michaels' counterpart on the Australian version of "The Biggest Loser."
In an exclusive interview, Michelle revealed that she feels a lifestyle change is necessary to maintain weight loss, However, she applauds the Paleo diet for concepts such as "cutting out sugar and processed foods, and focusing on eating whole foods."
If you want to go on a low carb diet, Michelle emphasizes that the carbohydrates you include should be in the fruits and veggies family.
"When people think of carbs they think of dense carbs as in potatoes, rice, and bread. Often people forget that veggies and fruit are carbs as well. So provided you're still getting green leafy veggies in your daily nutrition, then your carb levels and fiber levels can still be adequate. However, if you're a heavy exerciser, then you may need to bump up your carb intake," she adds.
