Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak debunks workout myths on 'Today Show'

Celebrity trainer to the stars, Harley Pasternak, shared the spotlight and shed some light on Hollywood myths when he appeared on The Today Show last week.

Harley, who helps sculpt the bodies of celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson and Eve, took the hosts of the show through some key butt-shaping moves and then spilled the beans on top celebrity diet tricks.

The first myth Harley was happy to throw overboard was the "no pain, no gain" mantra. Author of the The 5-factor Diet Harley says you don't always have to feel sore to know you had a great workout.

"Many people think if their muscles don’t hurt, they’re not having a quality workout. This is way off base," says Harley.

"While resistance training can be intense, and some level of discomfort may occur, pain is not required for a successful workout."

On another show, Harley confesses you don't have to spend tons of money at the gym to get a great celebrity body.

"Sometimes no equipment at all," says Harley as he takes The Today Show host through a celebrity workout. Adding, "Make a daily thing. A long walk or taking a flight of stairs."

Harley suggests working out five days a week for 25 minutes a day.
