Visiting Hollywood brings an expectation of seeing celebrities. The famous Sunset Strip and Hollywood Boulevard becomes the center of activity for those involved in the film industry.

The famous Sunset Strip to Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street is the birthplace of the west coast entertainment industry.

Since the film studios moved to Hollywood, the stars and executives dine at the local restaurants, nightclubs and attend the premieres.

If you seek nightlife, try the Rainbow Room, Whiskey A Go-go, Avalon Hollywood Nightclub, the Palladium, Lure Nightclub, the Comedy Store and many other nightclubs and fun spots in Hollywood.

The ornate Grauman’s Chinese Theater (1927) was known as the most famous movie theater in the world. They still hold film premiers today and many famous stars left their foot prints in the cement in the front courtyard.

Hollywood Boulevard has famous attractions like the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1958), the Brown Derby Restaurant (1929) at the famous corner of Hollywood and Vine.

Other famous sights along Hollywood Boulevard are the Kodak Theater (1928) home of the yearly Academy Awards, the Arclight Cinema, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (2009) and Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

Columbia Pictures, Warner Brothers Studios and Universal Studios were within a few hundred feet from Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street.

The first full length feature film in the United States as well as Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Star Search, Married with Children and many of the television programs we know were filmed here.

Built on Sunset Boulevard during the 60’s, the Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel became a part of the cities’ colorful past.
