Tom Cruise has never been shy about sharing his beliefs. He has proclaimed Scientology, loud, and long for years. The Church of Scientology began when author Ron L. Hubbard established it in 1954. Hubbard who took up ritual magic and occult dealings in 1948 also falsely claimed to have a long Naval career.

In 1950 he published “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.” The book included ideas from Buddhism, Freudian theories, hypnotic techniques, and other philosophes. Dianetics uses a person called an auditor who helps the “patient” go through painful events in reverse chronological order. The belief is that the memories and bad energy from the events will be erased or removed from the person.

Hubbard’s book quickly became popular with the public leading him to release the new idea of “Scientology”. After the religion took hold in America, Hubbard moved to London and started to spread his beliefs worldwide. Scientology has been popular among Hollywood for decades and still continues to grow in famous circles.
