Mike Starr (Alice in Chains) Celebrity Rehab 3. IMAGE CREDITS: VH1. Day two of detox in rehab (on television and off) is always full of pain and agitation, doesn’t matter the addiction. Nobody is sure if they really want to be there anymore. Some are so agitated that they are lashing out at the staff and crew.
The patients wake up and join together for process group. Bob Forrest begins, "There is a certain point, this low, really bad spot called a bottom. So, this bottom, this lowest of low, if you can survive it, it can spin you into orbit and then everything starts to fall into place." Mackenzie Phillips talks about being arrested and remembered thinking "please don't bust me I'm somebody's mother" as she stood with a bag of heroin sticking out of her sock. Mindy McCready shared her sad story of being in an abusive relationship saying "the worst stuff people don't know about.." the times she didn’t go to the ER, when she couldn’t "hide it." They arrested her boyfriend for attempted murder. She didn’t realize how close he was to killing her so many different times, she says. She thought she loved him so much. Don't call that love, that’s not love, Dr. Drew tells her. "It's intensity, its power, control, reenactment of trauma. Intense, but not love." They move on to Dennis Rodman: The police? 70 times? He says he's had his bad times, but that he's picked himself up. The group wants him to engage and talk about the reason why he's there. Drew tells him that they want him to participate and be a part of the group, they feel he's separated. Sound familiar? Kari Ann went through this type of thing during Sex Rehab.

Of all of the patients Mike Starr is experiencing the most serious withdrawal. "F you!" His withdrawal is so bad that he's becoming confused, paranoid, and expresses his rage toward the staff and cameras. "Yeah, man, life sucks when you're kicking drugs."
To be successful in treatment, you have to admit that you have a problem (something Lisa D'Amato hasn’t been willing to do.) At the doctor's request, Lisa puts together a timeline of her life. Her parents divorced, there was a custody battle and childhood sexual trauma. By the time she was In the third grade, she was sexually molested by a man living in the home. To this day, she rocks herself to sleep. Addiction is common in people with trauma in their past, as shown on past episodes of Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew.
The next morning, Shelly shares that she's an alcoholic/addict and asks who can identify as an addict or alcoholic? Joey? Addict? YES. Mike, are you powerless? YES. Heidi--oh, yeah… Dennis? "No, I'm cool… Drugs… No, I'd be dead." Alcohol. will always be there, as he explains that he does his thing by living in a balance, that's his plan... not stopping alcohol. "Aren’t you here because you have consequences of drinking?" asks Shelly? Rodman, "No, I think I have consequences because I'm famous." Dennis fulfills some community service hours around the center with staff member, Shirley, who explains that this is obviously not something he usually does and that he needs to learn how to do things other than what the world has given him glory for.
The 12 step meetings are the core/cornerstone of recovery; therefore, attendance is mandatory. It doesn’t go well as Shelly wakes up Mike. He calls her a bleep and kicks her out of his room. Agitated and combative, he throws and breaks a lamp. It isn't a good morning as Mike Starr continues to go off on the staff. He's angry as he climbs up onto the picnic table and stares down the camera guys. Overtly psychotic and in methadone withdrawal, he's detoxing. "Life sucks when you're kicking drugs." He talks to Dr. Drew and explains that Shelly pushes his buttons and the camera people are getting to him. It's difficult to tell if he'll adapt this environment moving forward, but he stays at the center. And Tom Sizemore and Kari Ann Peniche aren’t even there yet.
Bob Forrest, who has a long history with Tom, got a phone call, and set out to find him. (He's been holed up in his house doing drugs with his girlfriend ). He intended to check into the PCR today, but… Bob finally gets him in the car, but he jumps out, and tweaking on crystal meth, runs away. Forrest searches for him, but finally gives up; today wont be the day he enters treatment. He hasn’t been making movies at all because of his drug and alcohol problems (drug of choice being crystal meth).
Lastly, Mindy McCready has a seizure witnessed by Mackenzie Phillips.
