The Prevost XLII-based John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will make its network television debut on tonight’s episode of “Celebrity Motor Homes” (HCELM-209H ) which will air on Great American Country (GAC) TV at 9 p.m. EST. Produced by Torrance, CA-based Channel 8 Entertainment and hosted by the actor, Drew Waters, the half-hour episode will take viewers on a lightning tour of the mobile recording studio named after the late Liverpudlian singer-songwriter, as well as taking a gander at both the Class A Fleetwood RV used by “No Doubt” vocalist Gwen Stefani and the Prevost tour bus favored by Texas-born country music singer, Casey Donahew. A second episode (HCELM-204H) -- featuring the mohos used by country duo Montgomery Gentry, C&W star Rodney Allan Atkins & ventriloquist and stand-up comedian, Jeff Dunham -- will air at 9:30 p.m. EST on GAC.
Waters -- who is hosting on the show for the first time -- will walk viewers through the 45-foot-long Lennon Bus, a non-profit mobile AV studio that serves as a living legacy to former Beatle and Plastic Ono Band member, John Winston Lennon. Crammed with state-of-the-art equipment the Lennon Bus -- which has travelled the length and breadth of North America for almost two decades -- allows students of all ages to experience the many facets of 21st century music, video and OB production. In May 2013, Yoko Ono Lennon and Brian Rothschild -- Executive Director of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus -- extended the global footprint of the U.S.-based non-profit when they unveiled a superbly outfitted Mercedes-Benz Actros 2548-based bus -- manufactured by Karlsruhe, Germany-based motorhome specialist Ketterer Spezialfahrzeuge AG -- in Liverpool, England.
Converted by Todd Lay and his team at Palmetto, Georgia-based Atlanta Custom Coach Inc., the U.S. Lennon Bus -- which is based on a 2008 twin-slide Prevost XLII Entertainer -- has played host to a veritable “who’s who” of musical icons, including Latin guitar legend Carlos Santana, celebrated piano man Elton John and hip-hop collaborative The Black Eyed Peas. The Lennon Bus is configured with three discrete studios that can also be combined to create a single unit. The front studio contains a state of the art audio and video production room whilst the twin-room rear studio offers recording and mixing, as well as an isolation booth -- for acoustic recordings -- and a Chromatte (green screen) booth.
The 30-minute episode of Celebrity Motorhomes will also feature Gwen Stefani’s Class A RV -- which sports a plush lounge and a spacious master suite -- as well as Casey Donahew’s spectacular motor home -- with its pistol wall fixtures and stunning master bath. You can find GAC on Ch. 165 on the DISH Network or Ch. 326 on DIRECTV.
