Celebrity homes news! Actress Lindsay Lohan is crying poor. Her 2012 financial situation is so dire since the IRS froze her bank accounts that despite taking a $100k loan from actor Charlie Sheen she's at risk of becoming homeless in the early months of 2013. "According to our sources," said TMZ in a real estate report posted on Dec. 9, "Lindsay has been scraping together the money to pay her $8,000 rent [in the posh neighborhood Beverly Hills]." Will she be able to hold out long enough to stay in her place until the end of her big fat lease?
"We're told Lindsay signed the lease on [her home there] back in February [of 2012] ... when her career was on the upswing and the money seemed to be rolling in..." claimed the celebrity gossip source. Lilo, at that time, was banking that her role in the television movie "Liz & Dick" would help her make an acting comeback.
After the made-for-TV movie was widely panned by the critics, Lilo started to have a meltdown -- both personally and financially. "Lindsay tried to get out of the lease and move out early, but we're told the owners of the home told LiLo the penalty for breaking the lease was MASSIVE..." said TMZ.
Not wanting to put herself even deeper in debt, the Disney Princess has been doing everything she can to stay in her celebrity home in California. She's even resorted to having her sister Ali sell her expensive designer wardrobe piece by piece to resale shops all over the posh community.
The rumor mill reports seem to indicate that Lindsay is just trying to ride out the lease on the Beverly Hills home until it lapses in February of 2013. After that, not one is quite sure what the starlet will do. "LiLo is telling friends she'll then look for a place in New York..." said TMZ -- but with several court cases looming in both NYC and Los Angeles the state she eventually decides to reside in next might be decided by a judge in either of the respective counties [where she has pending felony and misdemeanor charges to face].
