It's the saddest news any parent can imagine: the death of a child. And the recent accidental death of Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston, undoubtedly has sparked interest in Old Bahama Bay. That's where the Travolta family has a home, and I pity the resort owners, residents and locals who are having to deal with a prying paparazzi.
So why do we like celebrity haunts? Three years ago, my hubby and I went to the One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. I'd heard about it, as John Travolta frequents it and recently threw a 50th birthday party for himself at the posh resort (Oprah was on the guest list). In fact, I found out that he had just been there prior to our three-night visit, and was reportedly a night owl, sleeping in the day and staying up all night.
There's even a website called Hotels of the Rich and Famous. That's where I found out that not only does John Travolta love the One & Only Palmilla in San Jose Del Cabo (it is the poshest, nicest place I've ever stayed), so do a host of other celebs including Demi and Ashton, Dustin Hoffman (my masseuse at the lovely spa had given him a massage recently), Hugh Jackman and the late John Wayne.
And on a more macabre note, there is a website called Deadly Hotels on Concierge.com.
Rest in Peace.
