Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian fighting for same role?

There is a new rumor circulating about Angelina Jolie that she is being replaced in the Tomb Raider series by reality television star Kim Kardashian.

The last time the rumor swirled Angelina Jolie was "being replaced", celebrity gossip tabloids said ex Transformers 3 actress Megan Fox was being given the role as Lara Croft because Angie -- at the ripe old age of thirty something -- was too old and unable to do her own stunts.

Sources at that time claimed Fox was the prime choice to replace Jolie because she was prettier and ten plus years younger.

Fans of Jolie pitched a fit.

How could movie moguls ever consider replacing the natural beauty and talented actress with the no talent plastic surgery copy Megan Fox -- known for being a nightmare to work with on the set thanks to her toxic personality?

It took a while for the tabloids to stop pushing the idea of Fox replacing Jolie, but rumors were finally quelled.

At least for a New York minute it became known that Lara Croft was set to remain a role that belongs to Angie.

That is, until now.

Since the myth that Jolie was getting the hatched ended because of her age and celebrity fitness, there has been more revealed about why the claims Fox would replace her were nonsense to begin with.

The Angelina Jolie Examiner says the rumor that AJ is too old and feeble to handle playing the Lara Croft part has been debunked by her stunt work on movies like "The Tourist" and "SALT".

However, the tabloids are after Angelina again -- this time for being too thin.

The daily rags are suggesting none other than reality TV star Kim Kardashian is out to steal Jolie's landmark part.

[Keep in mind, the Tomb Raider movies are so well liked internationally, that a street in England was actually dedicated to Jolie's character.]

Gossip Cop verified the rumor's origin and promptly let everyone know whether or not it was fact or fiction.

They write:

“Kim Kardashian is in talks to replace Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider movie franchise,” begins a widely picked up piece from Showbiz Spy.

According to the site, “Hollywood insiders” say “the curvy reality TV star is in the middle of negotiations to play video game beauty Lara Croft in a reboot of the film series.”

Seriously?

A so-called Showbiz Spy “source” notes, “This will be something very different to Angelina’s Lara,” explaining, “Kim is wanted to play a far more comic-strip version of Lara which would be shot in 3-D and aimed at a teen audience.”

The only thing comic-like is this joke of a premise.

Gossip Cop looked into this tale of the bootylicious Kardashian doing a reboot of the Tomb Raider series, and an individual involved with the production said it wasn’t going to happen and called the report “ludicrous.”

Hopefully, this Tomb rumor will finally be put to rest.

We have to point out that both Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian are both lovely ladies.

However, Jolie is an actress who is a master of her craft, while Kardashian -- although visually stunning and great to look at on the reality TV camera -- is no actor (in the real sense).

In fact, it is likely she could not act her way out of a wet paper sack.

What's more, while Jolie loves the physical challenge of hard work doing stunts, Kardashian is only comfortable remaining in low key environments that are posh.

For those reasons alone, we agree with Gossip Cop that to cast Kardashian in such a roll as Tomb Raider's Lara Croft would certainly be some kind of dumb publicity stunt unlikely to happen in any year sequel or 3D remake yet to come.

The fact that Jolie is thin and Kardashian is curvy?

While we agree that Kardashian does in fact have a figure like Jessica Rabbit -- we're still betting Jolie is the more striking character to look at using 3-D film technology.
