Celebrity fashion highlights at the Critics' Choice Awards 2013 (Video)

Hollywood celebrities stepped up their fashion game Thu., Jan. 10 for the Critics' Choice Awards 2013 in Santa Monica, Calif.

The semi formal affair brought out celebrities in all skirt lengths from short cocktail dresses to mid-calf and long gowns with a train.

Trendy standout fashion features showed up in detailed necklines, bejeweled handbags, diamonds and shoes.

Black gowns belted in gold with cut out necklines, drapey trains and sheer chiffon definitely placed actresses Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lawrence and Jaime King in the glamour goddess category.

My favorite look was an A-line cocktail dress with flower appliqué worn by Actress Marion Cotillard. Perez Hilton doesn’t know what he’s talking about because this dress rocked.

The blue lace and chiffon dress worn by actress Amanda Seyfried was called out as the worst by PH, although I do agree this was not Amanda’s best choice I give her worst runner up and second place to the white disaster worn by Elle Fanning. What are things on Fanning's feet?

Navy blue sparkle and stars gave actress Emmy Rossum the lead as best dressed however, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the red dress worn by actress Helen Hunt. It was simple, chic, classy and divine. Well done, Helen.

Marisa Tom for Fabsugar.com wrote, “Yes, it was perfectly body-skimming, and yes, it featured sexy, sheer lace insets that proved silhouette-sculpting . . . but it was Helen's demure approach to the bolder gown choice that made this look so compelling. Apart from the dress's scene-stealing hue, Helen kept things sleek and glamorous.”

Pretty in pink lace was actress Leslie Mann and the red mock wrap worn by Sally Field was flattering but not fabulous along with the sequin dress in turquoise worn by actress Nina Dobrev.

Actresses Kerry Bishe was a beauty in her red chiffon, Anne Hathaway in her vintage inspired Oscar de la Renta and Clea Duvall looked like the goddess Athena in her white chiffon.

As an art, fashion and style historian as well as a pop culture enthusiast I learned how to sew at a young age. My first pair of blue corduroy bell-bottom pants, the Beatles and white Go Go boots stirred my life long passion, and cultivation for all things wild, wonderful, and artistic.
