“Oh you know me, I'm the life of the party….Beautiful people surround me...”
And that’s just the half of it – Rihanna
In the social media hemisphere the buzz was beginning “This will be the most controversial show of my career” Tweeted Jason Christopher Peters: model, stylist and celebrity fashion designer. Jason made his TV debut on Tyra Banks “Stylista” Reality show. Since then, his career has propelled to new heights and his designs can be seen on the likes of numerous celebrities including Paris Hilton, Recording Artists Omarion and Wiz Khalifa, as well as Mob Wives, Housewives, Jersey Shore and Jerseylicious reality stars.
On Friday, January 11 invited VIP guests, supporters and media showed up despite the rain to help Jason Christopher Peters celebrate his birthday and to see his pre-fashion week collection during a special runway show which was sponsored by Clique Vodka and Confections of a Rock$tar. “I have celebrated many birthdays, but this one was the most fun!" said Peters.
Red carpet arrivals began at 8:00 p.m. and included high-end jewelry manufacturer for celebrities, Evander Broekman; President of Barami, Neda Hakakian; Sharie Manon of Glam Fairy; Karen Biehl, socialite and star of NYC life's Doggie Moms; and, TV reality star and mother of rapper Jim Jones, Mama Jones, who also modeled in the show.
“For this show, I was originally going to go with a more controversial theme, but had to scale it back some” said Jason. “My inspiration for the show was about being a fighter and having strength and power to overcome adversity.” Dubbed by Teen People associates as a "young Roberto Cavalli" Jason uses fabric embellished with Swarovski crystal black stones and his unique and edgy designs consist of everything from dresses, to swim wear to backpacks to eye patches. When asked what designers inspire him, he mentioned Lady Gaga and Alexander McQueen. With Fashion Week coming up, Jason plans to be everywhere he can. “I have been receiving so many invitations to shows and events! I am styling celebs in my designs as well and am booked to walk/model in 5 shows already! Its dope to know that after 12 years, I can still model!” he said.
In closing Jason’s message to his fans is this: “First, I love and appreciate you all so very much! I am sorry that I couldn't take photos and personally meet each one of you due to time constraints and the Ava Lounge Management rudely rushing everyone out. You all made my birthday a great and blessed one!”
If you missed this event, you can catch Jason Christopher Peters on Saturday, January 26 at 9:00pm at the Empire Hotel Rooftop at 44 West 63rd Street for a pre-New York Fashion Week show.
