[Year in Review]: Celebrity deaths in 2011 that were most memorable are Amy Winehouse, Elizabeth Taylor, and Steve Jobs. Some were expected, while others held the headlines. Perhaps it was the shock of it all, or a forced look into one's own mortality. Nonetheless, here's a look back, in memory of famous people.

Who is Amy Winehouse? She was Music: In Memory of a Songstress

When the 27-year-old singer died this year, the feeling was similar to the deaths of James Dean, Aaliyah, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, Ryan Dunn, or Heavy D. Why? Because they are gone too soon.

Winehouse suffered from a chronic condition that many celebrities battle throughout their careers; at some point, drugs and alcohol abuse become the rule instead of the exception. For those lucky enough to seek help with rehab and "get clean," that is half the battle. Amy Winehouse, through her music, captivated the world with her vocals, charm, wit, and struggles. In many ways, she was human, instead of the immortal celebrity fans often see in their music and acting. But at some point, a price is paid. Sadly, the "Rehab" singer paid one too early.

One of the most notable celebrity deaths in 2011 was Dame Taylor's passing from congestive heart failure. While she practically lived a "full life" at 79-years-of age, her death still has not been embraced by many fans who adored her. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and so was Liz Taylor.

Elizabeth Taylor "The Diamond Queen," was more than a woman with many husbands like Zsa Zsa Gabor, or the woman who captured Richard Burton's heart. She was a symbol of all things beautiful and enchanting. Perhaps that is why she and Amy Winehouse top the Celebrity Deaths 2011 List

In Memory of 2011Celebrities: Steve Jobs Remembered for more than the iPhone, iPad

For those who only knew the CEO and Founder of Apple, responsible for the cool gadgets that have become a mainstay of world cultures, the knowledge is limited to MacBooks, iPads, iPods, and iPads.

But to those who knew Steve Jobs the person, it's easy to understand why he should be mentioned in the Year in Review of celebrities who passed away. Largely a recluse, not much is known about his personal life.

But the little that is known about the late innovator is enough to place him high in conversations that involve revolutions and creating trends. He used technology not only to streamline processes; he created a way for the social world to coexist with the technological world. He was just that good.

Like Elizabeth Taylor, Amy Winehouse, and many others, Steve House is dead, but lives on in those who adored his life and legacy.  Who is the your most memorable celebrity for the Year in Review?
