Jason Trawick and Britney Spears are through says E! Online. The engagement that came about back in Dec. 2011 is already over. The pop star and her former lover have both confirmed through separate press agents that they have broken off their romantic relationship amicably. The news went viral on the Internet on Jan. 12 almost immediately when their statements hit the press.
MSN chose to report the breakup somewhat callously, saying, "Betrothed no more." They then added, "After months of rift rumors, it's officially over for Britney Spears and her fiancé, Jason Trawick. The pair, who began dating in 2009, have announced that they've amicably pulled the plug on their relationship."
But E! Online elaborated and further suggested the 31-year-old Disney princess dumped Trawick after being betrothed for only a short time (rather than the other way around) -- implying her finances and his business management style may be a source of contention between the pair. According to the source, Spears claims she will always adore him and says they will remain great friends -- but no mention was made of them continuing to work together in the statements released in the report.
Trawick shared similar positive sentiments about the ex "X Factor" celebrity judge, saying, "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins... I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." No mention was made by him in the document that has any interest in continuing to work professionally with her, either.
Oddly enough, Trawick had been appointed him co-conservator of the former child star's personal affairs. What their relationship will be from this point forward remains to be seen. However, now that she has been made the painful decision to leave her cushy reality TV judging gig for Simon Cowell there are rumors swirling that Britney is headed to Las Vegas to become a headliner in her own show -- something that most likely would be good for her young family (and in the best interest of her own emotional stability).
All that is known for sure at this point is the Jason Trawick has asked to be removed as co-conservator of Britney Spears estate. As such, he appears to be stepping away from the emotionally charged picture in a very dignified manner and professional way.
That's something unique to be applauded in Hollywood culture news these days.
