Actress Angelina Jolie says she is lucky to be alive. After years of wild partying and taking chances, the celebrity mom says she has finally settled down now that she is with actor Brad Pitt. In a new celebrity interview with 60 Minutes, Jolie confessed that her younger years were wrought with strife and impulsive decision making. Noting so many of the good die young, this bad girl has hung on.
The 36-year-old Oscar winning actress told the show: "I went through heavy, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young, so I'm very lucky. There are other artists and people who didn't survive certain things."
The National Ledger reports, "People can imagine I did the most dangerous and the worst. For many reasons, I shouldn't be here. You just think [about] those times when you came too close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken, too far."
Jolie used to be into knife play, kinky sex, and did lots of illegal drugs.
Nowadays, she leads a fairytale life with partner Brad Pitt, the Hollywood actor with whom she raises 6 celebrity kids.
Jolie has turned her passion for embracing the dark side to protecting her family and helping strangers in need world wide. While a youthful adventure might have taken her to a shady night club, her more adult adventures lead her on adventures and journeys through war-torn third world countries and natural disaster zones.
Angelina Jolie is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. She and partner Brad Pitt are both humanitarians (rather than a party couple) now.
She told Bob Simon during the CBS' '60 Minutes' interview: "I'm still a bad girl. I still have that side of me... it's just in its place now.... it belongs to Brad. Or our adventures."
