Celebrity chefs will compete in a reality weight-loss competition inspired by "The Biggest Loser," Fox News reported.
Among the contestants are Mike Isabella, who appeared on season six of "Top Chef," and Jamie DeRosa, owner of Owner of Tongue & Cheek restaurant in Miami.
The competition, which starts next week, will feature 13 top chefs who will compete to raise money for Live To Fight, a non-profit started by martial arts enthusiast Kristen Brown, a cancer survivor.
Each chef will attempt to raise money for the charity, which supports people in the martial-arts community who are battling life-threatening diseases. MMA fighter Ottavia Bourdain, the wife of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, is on the board of Live To Fight.
Isabella said the weight-loss competition is a win-win for both the contestants and the charity.
“Bringing all the chefs together, doing something special for a good cause and losing weight – it’s really fun," said Mike (pictured above). "I don’t want them to be too serious.”
Rocco DiSpirito Lost 50 Pounds on Low-Carb Diet
Other celebrity chefs who have slimmed down recently include Rocco DiSpirito, who lost 50 pounds by following a low-carb Mediterranean-style diet.
The 6-foot-1 Rocco slimmed down from 230 pounds to 180 pounds by overhauling his diet, and now boasts an impressive 10 percent body fat. DiSpirito has since competed in several triathlons and has never looked or felt better.
"I'm a former fat guy with a crooked back and flat feet who worked in a restaurant in New York, surrounded by and indulging in, all the finer things in life," said DiSpirito. "And I went from that to an Ironman [triathlete] in a year. If I can do it, anybody can do it."
Similarly, MasterChef star Graham Elliot recently lost a staggering 155 pounds after undergoing bariatric gastric-sleeve surgery. Elliot, who was once a couch potato, celebrated his weight loss by running his first 5k race in November 2013.
Graham is so excited about his newfound energy that he wants to run the 2014 Chicago Marathon with fellow "MasterChef" judges Joe Bastianich and Gordon Ramsay.
