Back in July the Nashville Parenting Examiner had an article on Melissa d'Arabian, a stay at home mother of twins, who was also a finalist on the reality show "The Next Food Network Star". d'Arabian was a fan favorite from the very beginning, and the food network executives judging the contest apparently agreed. d'Arabian won the contest, and these days she works for the Food Network.
d'Arabian's show is called Ten Dollar Dinners and the premise is exactly what the title says. Making dinner for four on a $10 budget. The recipes are designed with working parents in mind, and d'Arabian often also manages to slip in a bit of the exotic that she picked up on international trips to places like France, Tunisia, and Morocco.
If you're a fan of d'Arabian, gas up the car because she's going to be appearing at Women Today in Knoxville this weekend. Women Today is a trade show sponsored by the Knoxville News Sentinel for women, and Melissa will be appearing at their Food City Cooking School on Friday and Saturday (see schedule for details). The cooking school will also feature demonstrations by Fabio Viviani, contestant and fan favorite from Top Chef Las Vegas, as well as several notable local chefs.
