My life on the lower than D list...
I'll pass on this show as I have passed on the PBS show. Once you have seen the real deal the clones won't do.
I must be getting old ( thank you) because the people who pass as celebrities has gone way down. Never seen Rain but I did see the Fab Four @ the Hollywood Bowl a few years back.
OK I did a quick Youtube search on Rain, I got to tell you if the bass player doesn't play a left handed bass it ruins the whole allusion of seeing the Fab's, as far as sound well that's a whole other story..B+
I think that's pretty much true for any Beatles tribute. I've seen ones -- not Rain -- that used right-handed bass players. Just as an aside, I saw Rain last night in San Jose. I'll have a review up soon.
"The opening night of "Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles" became a star-studded evening with several celebrities in attendance"
Dr. Ruth? Andre DeShields? Chita Rivera? Shelley Rivera? If these individials are collectively considered "star-studded" then it is an embarrassment to even mention this "show" and the Beatles in the same breath. Sad.
as the first poster said, all d listers.
i have seen the pbs show, i know people who are in this band. i prefer bands like fab faux who play the music in their own way and don't try to be clones. i won't be going to see rain on bway or anywhere else.
You know they've hit the big time when they're taking "a blow on the opening night"!
