The International Women’s Day celebration has been organized for over 100 years, and it has expanded to be a global celebration held each year to honor the contributions of women in all aspects of society.
Purpose for Women International is hosting a local celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2013. This event will be held at the Mckoy Center at 5462 N. Center Street, Hilliard, OH 43026. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a free public session from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Awards Luncheon is at 11 a.m., with Norah Bagirinka as the keynote speaker. Norah was a survivor of the 1994 massacre in Rwanda, and helped to found Rwanda Women in Action after coming to the US.

This public session program will include a vendor area that offers products provided by women in fashion, art, community action, and food. Donations will be collected at the door to support local charities that support women, including doma connection, Jackylyn Siglos Foundation, Mothers helping Mothers and TearBear.org.
There will be a VIP charity concert following the public sessions. Marble Park and the All Star Jammerz will be performing for this concert. Marble Park does funk and jazz. Pricing for International Women’s Day events are as follows:
$49 for the luncheon. If you are attending the catered luncheon, you need to RSVP and pay in advance. Registration ends on March 6, 2013 at midnight.
$10 in advance and $20 at the door for the VIP charity concert
SPECIALS – these absolutely end at midnight on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
$49 all-day pass that includes the luncheon, free session, and VIP charity concert. Two lunches for the price of one lunch special price of $75 until Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
This is a catered luncheon so the RSVP and early registration is required.
