Raise your glasses; it is time for the 2013 Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association’s Celebration of Harvest at Rancho Sisquoc. The event is taking place over the Columbus Day holiday weekend with the main event, the Grand Tasting being on Saturday, October 12th.
All one hundred of the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association winery members will join together to inaugurate this year’s harvest. In addition this tasting event features the local cuisine from some of the best restaurants and caterers in the area.
It is the venue that makes this event so special. Tucked back against the hills along the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, one finds a beautiful picturesque backdrop for this festival.
Morgen McLaughlin, Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association says, “We are excited for this year's Celebration of Harvest because this year's festival is over Columbus Day Weekend, we hope attendees will extend their visits to include additional winery events and experiences throughout the four day period."
New this year is the Harvest Hangout with Winemakers from 2:30 – 3:15 pm. The wineries participating in the Hangout are Ampelos, Andrew Murray, Buttonwood, Fiddlehead Cellars, Foxen and Rancho Sisquoc.
The Celebration weekend starts on Friday with many special winery events and dinners. Click here for a list of the weekends special events offered at various wineries and restaurants.
Santa Barbara County has some of the finest wines along California’s Central Coast with Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Association showcasing those wineries that create these exceptionally wonderful wines for this region makes Celebration of Harvest a must attend event.
