Many have tried to revisit 60's glamour in the past, and while their homage to the fashionable era was appreciated, none have seemed to capture the essence like Gucci did with the 2014 Fall Ready-to-Wear collection. The collection was showcased yesterday during Milan Fashion Week, and was immediately a big hit to kick off the runway shows.

Frida Giannini was obviously inspired by retro fashion and elegance for this collection, and it showed in many of the beautiful, well tailored pieces seen on the runway. From the tailoring to the colors, the collection was full of appreciation for the sophisticated era that inspired so much of fashion today. The pieces also reflected that of London's sophisticated style. "I felt the need to materialize the essence of Gucci. A longing for precision and clean lines" Giannini stated, describing her inspiration. And the essence of Gucci is exactly what she captured with this collection. Denim played a great part in the collection, as well as beautiful straight out of a fashion fairy tale. Standouts included A-line leather dresses in beautiful pastel colors, slim fit pea coats, and elegant pullovers and button ups. Another standout was the brown leather high waisted skater skirt paired with an olive green long sleeved blouse.
