Celebration Arts Education with the Michigan Philharmonic

The regular concert season may be over but the educational activities of the Michigan Phil are just heating up! During the month of April, Michigan Philharmonic musicians presented educational programs for all 3rd and 4th graders in Plymouth-Canton, Wayne-Westland and Van Buren Schools along with several schools in the City of Detroit. During the month of May these programs continue with the Michigan Philharmonic Koncert for Kids which will be performed for all 4th graders in 5 different school districts.

Everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the Koncert for Kids as the Michigan Philharmonic presents a Family Concert at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill on Saturday, May 3, 2014 as part of Canton Culture Week. The concert starts at 7:00 pm but come early and meet the musicians and enjoy an “instrument petting zoo” from 6- 7 pm prior to the concert. At the concert the audience will be treated to terrific music from Mozart to the themes from “Fairly Odd Parents” and “The Simpsons”, get a conducting lesson, and learn about all the instruments of the orchestra. The Michigan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Spring Concert – at the Village Theater at 7:00 pm.

Come hear over 95 students in 4 ensembles of the youth orchestra perform music from classical to pops.

Tickets are only $10 for Adults and $6 for students.
