Chinese new year is coming up, and this will be he year of the Horse, the seventh sign in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. Energy, intelligence, and love of entertainment are traits of those born under the sign of the horse. They are cheerful, perceptive and good communicators.

To honor the year of the horse, Zengo (781 7th St. NW, 202-393-2929) will celebrate with brunch specials, available in addition to the $35 bottomless brunch menu during the first two weekends in February - February 1-2 and 8-9 - from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The special menu items will feature flavors symbolizing the promise of luck, longevity and good fortune for the new year, and include scallop and bacon dumplings (for wealth and luck), shrimp and chicken spring rolls (for family and good fortune), and vegetable lo mein. Long noodles are served so that all guests at the table will have a long life.
