Ras Tafari Greetings & Blessings to the “Members of a New Race” –
On Sunday January 6, 2013, IDOR Elders Executive Counsel and Founding Member, Nana Farika traveled to Ethiopia for the AU Summit (January 21 – 28, 2013). Included in her mission goals was the promotion of Pan Africanism, and to pull together the African Diaspora and African leaders to forge forward for a united states of Africa.” Nana Farika returned to the Washington/Baltimore region on Feb 25.
The mission to Ethiopia was carried out in Nana Farika’s role as Vice President of World African Diaspora Union (WADU). However, Nana Farika was keen to fulfill her natural role as a Ras Tafari Matriarch and her historic work within the Nyahbinghi House. As a result, she spent time at the Nyahbinghi Center in Shashemane and provided moral strength to the pioneers on duty in Malkoda.
As part of an international outreach, Nana Farika returned with 200 8x11 reproduced artistic renditions or portrait of the Nyahbinghi House in Shashemane; to be used as certificates in exchange for a $5.00 gift or contribution to the Nyahbinghi House, to raise funds for the repair the roof of the Nyahbinghi House.
