Sustainable Indiana 2016 will exhibit some of Indiana's most promising sustainable initiatives at the Sustainable Living Fair this Saturday, June 26 at the Marion County Fairgrounds on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
For example, race fans won't want to miss the appearance of the Purdue Solar Racing Team. Ted Pesyna, club president, said “The team will showcase its record breaking vehicle PULSAR which achieved an equivalent of nearly 5,000 mpg as well as the design of their next generation solar vehicle, Celeritas, a highway certified urban concept car." The fair will also feature a solar-powered lawn mower and a kit to covert a Prius into a plug-in hybrid.
Rae Schnapp, with the Sustainable Indiana 2016, a project of Earth Charter Indiana, said “ Our goal is to celebrate and rapidly replicate sustainable initiatives in time for Indiana's bicentennial in 2016. To accomplish this, we are shining a spotlight on “bright spots” that Hoosiers can take pride in right now.”
