Today, our nation celebrates the legacy of a true American icon, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, King is remembered as a hero of the Civil Rights Movement, and for campaigning for equal rights in a society where African-Americans were often thought of as second-class citizens.

As a society, we have arguably come a long way since the early days of the Civil Rights movement.

However, we still have a long way to go in recognizing equal rights for everyone, and continuing to celebrate the legacy of this man who has made such a difference in the lives of others.
