But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them that they remain even as I am I - Corinthians 7:19
Many Christians have different views about Valentine’s Day, what it represents, its place in Christianity and the life of the believer. Consequently, many people still choose to celebrate the occasion as a day honoring love. And because God is love, there exists a reason to celebrate even beyond a mere day. However, during a holiday that is traditionally geared towards couples, do Christian singles have a reason to celebrate?
Some would say, absolutely yes! Here in Baltimore City, there are even a few events that have been organized and put in place exclusively for singles, to help them celebrate and promote healthy relationships, friendships and fellowships among single men and women. Churches like Promise Land Church Ministries of Baltimore that host regular singles ministry classes will host a very special “Cupcake Social” on Friday, February 11, 2010 during the ministries normal singles ministry fellowship that meets every second Friday of the month. The event will begin at 7:30pm at 4510 Highview Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229. Contact 410-247-8685 for more details.
Additionally, Immaculate Cuisine and Blessed to Serve Events will sponsor a very special Valentine’s Day Singles Brunch on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 10:30am – 2:00pm that will include great food, music, fellowship and fun for singles. The brunch will take place at 200 St. Paul Plaza, Baltimore MD 21202. Tickets are still available and it is highly encouraged that you purchase your ticket in advance ($30 and $35 at the door) for this spectacular event in Baltimore. Please call 410-497-7205 for additional details and/or to purchase tickets.
If your ministry or group has a special event, conference, workshop geared towards Christian singles, please e-mail email@example.com so the event can be featured in the Baltimore Christian Living Examiner column.
