Celebrate your right to nautically inspired looks this 4th of July

From sea to shining sea, classic Americana has been nautically inspired since the Mayflower. Albeit, evolved over the centuries, we do love our sailor inspired trousers, shorts, and stripes.

Classic nautical style is typically red, white, navy, and yellow, but has also been known to branch out into other shades, among them orange, green, and even in the candy coated rocker sense,  pink, courtesy of Wildfox Couture at Boutique to You.

The key to styling the perfect nautical look, is to first determine what kind of sailor you are. Pirate? Maine lander? Military? So many choices to be inspired by, and so many ways to interpret it within the scope of your own taste. Whether you lean toward the literal interpretation, floppy collars, anchor or seahorse prints, and roped waistlines, or just borrow a tad using stripes, it doesn't matter if you are actually on the coast or land locked, it's a fun look to celebrate the 4th in patriotic style that goes a step beyond the stars and stripes.

Browse through the slideshow below, and then go on a treasure hunt for your own nautically natured wardrobe fillers. For a really good deal, don't rule out TJ Maxx, in Colorado Springs, just off Powers BLVD
