Looking for a unique and educational place to celebrate a birthday party or to take a Scout Troop? Lauderdale by the Sea Volunteer Fire Department is the place to call. Parents can call and schedule their party in advance. Groups can bring in their own birthday cake, food and drink. The VFD will allow groups to come into the Station where the kids are treated to plastic fire hats, sticker badges and a chance to climb into a real fire truck.

Fire Department Administrator Daniel Chavez explains, “We give the kids a chance to see the trucks and all of our equipment and we do a fire safety demonstration for the older kids. We feel it is an important community service, and it is all about the kids. We are happy that we can allow the kids to enjoy the Station and learn about fire safety at the same time.”

After the visit to the Fire Station guests can walk across the street to the Lauderdale by the Sea Municipal Park to the basketball courts or the playground. The Town itself has a full day of activities to offer in the form of the beach, fishing pier and shopping.

What child would not be thrilled with a birthday party complete with real firemen, fire trucks, equipment demonstration and some fire safety instruction? It is just one more way that the town of Lauderdale by the Sea demonstrates its commitment to community service.

Visits to the VFD can be arranged by calling Fire Department Administrator Daniel Chaves at 954-772-8978.
