“World Smile Day” is celebrated in the fall each year on October 3. This holiday is easy to celebrate. Just a little grin can make all the difference in the world. A small or big smile tells people you are happy, content and want to share the joy you are feeling with others.
Sometimes smiling at another can make their mood change from sad and grim to happy and glad. A smile can tell another that you approve of what they are doing. It is so easy to smile instead of putting on a frown. Plus, smiling leaves happy lines on your face whereas frowns leave nothing but wrinkles behind.
What exactly is a smile?
A smile is simply a facial expression. It is made when one flexes the muscles around their mouths.
Why do people smile?
Smiling tells others they are happy, amused at what they might have head without actually laughing. It can also denote a feeling of pleasure or be alluring to a partner.
Smiles are understood by everyone. It doesn’t matter what color, creed, religion, culture or race them are. It is a pleasant way of communicating without speaking and most often is a spontaneous reaction.
When you simile make sure it is genuine. Others will be able to see though your facial expressions and know if you are showing signs of happiness, pride or being tolerant, frightened or covering up a painful or embarrassing moment.
Celebrate “World Smile Day” by smiling and keep smiling; the world will smile back at you!
Smile, you never know what tomorrow will bring!
