Every year on October 2 all the people in the world celebrate “World Communication Day”. This is a great day to send messages via hand written letters, emails and greeting cards out. Other ways of getting your thoughts heard is by picking up the phone and making a call or texting a message.
Old friends, relatives and family members will be thrilled to hear what you have been doing and that you haven’t forgotten them. How often busy schedules take you away from remembering you haven’t contacted a loved one in a long time. The first person on the list would be your mother. She will be thrilled to get a call, letter and hear an update on what you are doing as well as the activities of her grandchildren too.
You use the internet and phone daily for work, jokes and internet network sites all the time. Now is the time to take a break from the constant flow of interactive social media sites and prioritize some of that time for those people close to you that really need to hear your voice.
Enjoy communicating with old friends from high school, college, old neighborhoods, sons and daughters who moved away or are in the military, send a letter to a soldier who serving the country you live in and love even if you don’t know them or visit a retirement home and chat up with one of the residents who don’t get many visitors.
Celebrate “World Communication Day” and be heard as well as listened to!
