The Susan G. Komen Foundation has been in the news quite a bit over the past ten days, and it will be front and center this weekend at Coconut Point, where the organization is partnering with Howard Alan Events, Ltd. to put on the 6th Annual Coconut Point Art Festival.
Variety and diversity are themes at every Howard Alan event, and there is something for everyone at this Valentine Weekend's Coconut Point Art Festival, ranging from $15 handmade silver jewelry to lifesize sculptures costing in excess of $50,000.
More than 160 artists and artisans will be on hand with every medium and genre being represented. Visitors will find paintings in oil and acrylic, 2D and 3D mixed media, collages, watercolors, pastels, drawings in pen and ink and charcoal on paper, etchings and lithography, photography and digital art, bronze and metal sculpture, Raku, ceramics, stone and wood carvings, wood music boxes, glass fusion and glass art, leather works, fabric mache and hand-crafted art jewelry.
The artists participating in this festival have been selected by an independent panel of expert judges, who chose them from the hundreds of applicants who applied for inclusion in the show. This selection process ensures quality, diversity and a variety of original and handmade art possessing wide appeal.
Howard Alan Events is one of the most widely-recognized and highly-regarded names in the art festival industry. Howard, wife and business partner Debbie, and their dedicated staff run 45 juried art shows and a like number of craft shows each year out of their small office in Tequesta, Florida. No matter which corner of the nation you visit, you are sure to find a Howard Alan event somewhere, be it Aspen, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Alexandria, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale or Sarasota, to name just a few venues. These popular outdoor festivals are consistently ranked among the top art shows in the country.
Over the last 24 years, Howard Alan is proud to have exhibited the work of over 10,000 different artists worldwide. Today, a typical Howard Alan show will feature anywhere from 100 to upwards of 300 exhibitors. Participating artists are like family to Howard and Debbie, with a large number having been with the couple since the very beginning. Many credit Howard Alan for allowing them to make a living doing what they love most.
The Coconut Point Art Festival replaced Howard Alan Events’ premier art festivals traditionally held in Downtown Naples and has quickly become a tradition in its own right that locals have come to anticipate with the same enthusiasm.
All Howard Alan productions benefit a worthy cause, and a portion of the proceeds from this festival goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.
The festival opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free and there is ample of free parking on site. For more information, please vist http://www.artfestival.com or http://www.facebook.com/HowardAlanEvents.
