Valentine's Day is more than just a greeting-card holiday where you send out cheery cards emblazoned with the words, "I love you" and, "Be mine." No, it's a time to sit back and enjoy spending time with your loved ones... with the addition of an alcoholic beverage or two.
In case you're at a loss of where to begin, here are a few suggestions:
Start off with Exclusiv Vodka, which hails from the wheat fields of Moldova, a former Russian territory. It tastes crisp and refreshing, with a slight taste of berry peeking through (cherry, perhaps) but is rather strong, or you'll want to toss in a few ice cubes and some orange juice. Or, if you prefer a cocktail, here's a specially-designed recipe, straight from the Exclusiv Vodka producers:
The Exclusiv Valentine
1 1/2 oz Exclusiv Vodka
1/2 oz raspberry liquor
1/2 oz simple syrup
5 rose petals
Champagne
In a collins glass, muddle rose petals and simple syrup add ice.
Pour vodka and raspberry liquor then fill with champagne.
For the champagne required in the recipe, consider using a sparkling wine, Moscato Rose', also from Exclusiv. Moscato is a very sweet wine made from Moscato grapes that has a lovely berry flavor with some additional citrus notes. To enhance the sweetness, try this recipe:
Exclusiv Currency
2 ounces Exclusiv Berry
1 ounce Chambord
Fill a champagne flute with Exclusiv Moscato
Perfect for a Valentine’s Day celebration!
