When I heard about Cupid’s Undies Run, I knew I had to find out more; and I am glad that I did. This event is not only an opportunity to get out and walk, it also an opportunity to give back to Children's Tumor Foundation.
This Saturday, February 9th, beginning at 2pm, a one mile run/ walk will take place in the Wrigleyville area. The race will start and finish at Houndstooth Saloon. This event is about more than just the fitness, it is about charity and fun. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Children’s Tumor Foundation. “The Children's Tumor Foundation (CTF), the world's largest non-government organization dedicated to ending neurofibromatosis (NF) through research. NF causes tumor to grow all over the nervous system and can cause blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain.” (http://cupidsundierun.com/?c=chi&p=ch)
Now the fun…. First, you have to be 21 years of age and older to participate in this race. Why? Because organizers are asking participants to run in there undies. Why undies? “Because if these children can be so brave as to deal with the cards they have been dealt, then the least we can do is face our owns fears in a manner that raises funds to help find them a cure.” (http://cupidsundierun.com/?c=chi&p=ch) And, it is fun!
