Paragon Studios kicks off its annual City of Heroes Valentine's Day event today with the 2012 Spring Fling. Running until February 27th, this year's event adds some new missions, badges, and temporary powers to change things up a bit. In addition to dealing with the Well of the Furies and the villain Snaptooth, this year heroes and villains will get to partake in missions involving Lord Recluse's long-dead love, the Red Widow, as well as delivering (or misdiredting, if you're so inclined) Valentine's Day love letters to various recipients in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
Heroes and villains can even get all dressed up for the event, as Paragon Studios yesterday released the Pocket D Valentines Pack. Available in the Paragon Market for a bundle price of 400 Paragon Points, the Pocket D Pack features casual costume items like loose ties, acid washed jeans, metallic skirts, new hairstyles, party-themed emotes, and more.
Charleston resident Jakob Keith plans on logging into City of Heroes for the first time in nearly a year to check out the new costume items and Valentine's Day missions. "A lot of the new costume pieces are reminscent of 80's clothes, which I love," he says. "I wish they were free, but it's nice that at least the new Valentine's Day content is available to free players like me."
