Celebrate the life of Marineland's "Nellie" with Free Admission May 15th

Sixty one year old Nellie a Marine Land Dolphin passed away this week. Nellie was the oldest dolphin to be raised in human care. Nellie became an icon in marine biology and an ambassador for marine animals. You can find more information about Nellie and photos of her life at this online tribute a legacy to Nellie.

Nellie was born at Marineland Florida in 1953. Her long life is a reflection of the outstanding care she received from Marineland staff over the years. Nellie was adopted as a mascot by Jacksonville University. She is not only a local star but has been on the big screen a few times. Over the years Nellie has held a place in many hearts.

Marineland is planning to celebrate Nellie's life on May 15th. There will be an open house with free admission for guests from 9am to 4:30 pm.
